Live From the Blue Pillow ...

Before I get to my regular post, I have sad news to report ...one of our Cat Blogosphere friends lost everything in a deadly fire last night. Fortunately, Sebastian and his family made it out safely, but other pets in their apartment building did not. There's a Chip In to help them get back on their feet. Please donate if you can ...

As I think I have mentioned, my papa is a film guy. He kind of lives for film (and me, of course). He does the marketing and publicity for Music Box Films, a film distribution company that buys the rights to foreign films and then distributes them to theaters in the United States ...blah, blah, blah, a mouthful, I know.

Well, guess what - one of their films Monsieur Lazhar was nominated for an academy award for Best Foreign Language Film!

Will I be attending the awards ceremony and all the cool parties ...well, no, but I am still hoping to make the best dressed list.

Move over George Clooney - there's a new dog in town!

So, if you can stay awake watch the ceremony on Sunday, please root for Monsieur Lahzar and of course, go see it if it comes to a theater near you!

  6. Mr. Pip, If you DON'T make the best dressed list, then someone needs to have their eyes examined!!! BOL.

That is so terrible about the house fire. It's one thing to lose possessions but such a tragedy to lose beloved animals. It happened to a friend of mine and he was devastated.

Now that fire must have been the same one here last night in the next town over from us. There is also a Siberian Husky Razor missing. His family is hoping he got out, but it is not looking good. So very sad. The story is here:

    http://www.kshb.com/dpp/news/local_news/pet-owners-are-holding-out-hope-after-shawnee-apartment-fire

The wind was so fierce the fire just got out of control very quickly.

Our hearts go out to Sebastian's family - such a terrible loss.

I am sure that you will be the best dressed pup at the Awards! Even that dog everybody is talking about from that big movie won't be as cool as you.

P.S. We only got a light dusting of snow, and it was all melted away by the time Mom got out of school this afternoon!
