I lived in a sad place with many other dogs. There were adult dogs and puppies …some of the puppies were mine, I think. I was hungry and my fur was so matted and tangled that I could hardly move.
One day, the police arrived and took us away. They brought us to animal care and control, which is also a scary place but for different reasons. We were put in cages. All around us were frightened and sick animals – cats, dogs, and even wild animals!
We stayed there while our court case was settled. But finally, a rescue organization saved me and brought me to wonderful foster home. The other dogs were rescued, too. Many of them were puppies (maybe my puppies) and found homes quickly. I was adopted once, but returned because of my separation anxiety. No one else was interested in me because of my age (I’m six) and health issues (I’ve had a few seizures).
Many months passed, but finally a nice family came to visit me …they had just lost their beloved dog of 12 years. I could feel how much they missed their dog and so even though I was scared, I rolled over and let the little girl rub my belly. I think this sealed the deal.
They brought me home a few days before Thanksgiving and one month later, I'm still here! Lucky for me, something in my eyes reminded them of Pip.
I promise to take very good care of our family, Pip!
